Travelling without moving
You need to produce a poster about an English speaking country. Your task is to do this poster in A3 format and to present your country in an enticing manner. Some of the things we would like you to include are:
Where is the city situated? Where in the world can I find it?
What type of currency do they use?
Is it a cheap or expensive city to visit compared to Stockholm?
What do they eat? What are their specialties (if any).
What do people do for recreation, what do they do in their spare time in the city?
Is there any national sport in the country?
What types of weather can you expect when visiting the city?
How do you get around in the city? By bike, subway etc.?
What is a day like for a typical citizen in your city?
Is there any type of music that stands out? e.g. Reggae on Jamaica.
And of course the typical sight-seeing things, the “must-see’s” of the city
If you find anything else of interest please include that in your poster.
The poster should contain pictures as well; you are free to choose pictures that you feel are suitable. The posters will then be presented in the classroom.
After you return from PRAO you will also be expected to hold a presentation in class about your city. This presentation should be presented in a sell-able manner. What I mean by that is that you encouraged to use terms such as: “The soothing sound from the Atlantic Ocean gives your soul a rest”, or “The bustling streets of London are the perfect place for anyone willing to spend a few quid extra”. Just think cliché and you’ll be halfway there.

W.3 Form groups and start to gather information
W.4 Start working on your posters, they should be finished by Tuesday (Thursday for group A)
W.5-6 PRAO
W. 7 Prepare presentations. On Tuesday we will do the presentations in class (Thursday for group A)
